A WTNY we all love.

WTNY as a organization has experienced rapid growth, however, we can not do this without your support. Please support us in anyway you can, this means promoting WTNY online and offline in BBSes and in real life, organize WTNY events such as parties and etc. All contributions will be remembered and highly appreciated.

Thank you,

-Jason

That's also what I concerned.

Diana 9-3-2007 02:40

Who has better way to promote our groups, please let us know. Thank you!

WTNY 9-4-2007 01:52

"it's a good idea to promote offline ...but after introducing it to my friends in life, i dont know any other ways....." "Who has better way to promote our groups"

This is probably why our forum is still lacking attention. Only one or two of WTNY core members are willing to do the dirty work and the rest take the easy way out. When I say the "dirty work," I'm talking about direct marketing in BBSes, groups..etc and soliciting link exchanges and partnerships. In a society like the WTNY community, there must be people who are doing the "dirty work" and I do not mind getting my hands dirty because I think my WTNY friends are worth my sacrifices.

Amandine 9-4-2007 08:45

actually as i said, the hardest job is to do the promoting job...

actually my initial reply for this thread indicated so many problems when promoting online but later i reedited it and asked for some good ways cuz i didn't want my reply was like a long paragraph. lol

promoting online is tough and time-consuming if you dont have knack for it.

person to person(s) promoting method is the quickest way to recruit new members in short time or in hours or in minutes..

but the problem is when we introduce our website to others along with the purpose we created this website, they won't trust so easily...they usually will ask " really?, what's that for? " using a suspicious attitude to see u,  even some people will judge it as a virus or sth later that will charge them.....so firstly you have to explain for them again and again, telling them it's totally a website for helping others improve English.

after we convince them to access the website to register an account and join us, then they will say " so many unfamiliar words, i can't understand them, my english is poor"....no matter how i encourage them to continue, i  will never see their posts on the forum..that's why we have more than 2,000 members but 2/3 of them are inactive....it's just like we force them to join this forum through they are also english lovers...

it's really time-consuming and inefficient if we promote in this way, you can do this job once or twice, if you ask others to do it everyday, everyone will be fed up with it...

That's how every entity starts from. By recruiting, promoting or inviting people one at a time. Sooner or later, 1 turns into 10, 10 turns into 100. That's what it takes, and that's what WTNY should do too.

Yours,

Jason

to amandine

i think you are right, amandine, we lack of roused stimulation to promote the group .once they come into this group, we cant afford a well learning surrounding to stimulate lasting active .we ve lots of things to deal it.or it will be in imminent peril .

WTNY 9-7-2007 03:43

Dear Joe, how are you? Have you ever watched the construction of a skyscrapper in whole? Building a skyscrapper is like building an organization, it has to start from the fundamentals. Everything has to start somewhere and WTNY is no except. What bugs me is that this pushing of responsibility. I would like to send my most encouraging words to WTNY's components and I would like to advise WTNY's detractors that WTNY one day will succeed and WTNY will not be intimated for WTNY will remembers its benefactors and its critics.

Winterflame 9-7-2007 08:57

Who would be fit for QC manager?

WTNY, a good rhetoric lord of the Forum you are. Soppose you were the investor of the project, SKYSCRAPPER, I would say I m the bricklayer in the construction site. As for others. selina maybe a qualified foreman; joe is a technician; clairbear will be a coordinator; and the captious QC manager should be..............            Lol~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

:P

Winterflame 9-7-2007 16:31

Yes, I have a effecient skill in bricklaying. heheh

Amandine 9-7-2007 18:06

Jason, can i take it that u r angry? anyway, never see u get angry...what i want to say is u have contributed too much and we all know that...WTNY is still immature but it's good enough at this stage....u can't always just contribute for others..ur own business is much more important...so u did a wonderful job...i believe everyone here appreciates that.

btw, no one here is WTNY's detractors...we all love this family..Joe just stated some problems and didn't give you more responsibility.

Thank you for your honorable appreciation. I have much spare time to post something in the forum. And your conern is also my conern, I hope the forum will become more and more konwn.

Yet  I still don't know the hind of your statement. Anyhow I would rather believe that it has nothing to do with me...

Selina 9-7-2007 18:54

everyone rush to promote....i would like to spent the time with ppl there...at least someone they can talk to.......

differtent role.......but we all luv this place......

lol, dont say i am too sensitive, i always feel u dont dare to talk to me or u dont like to talk to me after our arugments last time...lol, anyway,  you are my friend and i want to say sorry to u for my rudeness last time for so many times....

glad to hear that u want to contribute sth for our forum.....i suppose Jason will want u to be a member of WTNY's marketing team..cuz  u know...promotion is time-consuimg and tough...we need more kind members to do this job together. what's more, we need more new members so that we can have more fun, help more people.  I believe only increased interaction will make this forum suceed, or it may be a dead forum one day.

lastly, it's ur choice to do what, and no one will force you..posting is also good but i believe promoting is more urgent.

well, i feel i am a organizer, i also should do some promotion when i have time i think.

Hhehe, something beneath the voice is more or less  guilty, though a high-pitched.....   that's my perception

WTNY 9-8-2007 11:37

My suggestion to all my WTNY forum loving friends is to see promoting WTNY as a challenge if not a hobby and see the gradual success of WTNY as your own success. Winterflame, you know I don't play the role of "contractor" in WTNY. My "job" is probably worse than your "job" within WTNY. Take it however you like, but my love for WTNY and its members is pure and undivided. When I say I'm going to make WTNY a success, I will make it successful no matter how many years it takes or how many liters of blood it takes away from my veins. But as your dear friend and fellow WTNYer, I would like to get all WTNYers involved in making it successful because WTNY is not just a name, but an organization made up of my people, my friends and my family members.

Jason

Hi, WTNY

Hi, how are you, WTNY. I m really touched by your loyalty and passion for the forum that I believe will contribute crucial work to not only the forum success but inspiriting other family members.

Lol,  I confessed that it is the most agitating post so far I had read  since my registration in the forum.

Please be assured herein that I m also a global citizen, and I wanna to welcome more new friends to join us.

By the way, I will support you and your job all times.

WTNY 9-9-2007 02:51

Dear Winterflame, how's it going? What agitating post? I take it as what it is and nothing more. Thank you for your warm and kind support. Amandine, it is true that we are all friends here. Most people joined WTNY to make as many friends as possible not enemies.

Hi, Jason.  how are you. I m agitated by your passion and loyalty for the forum.

More details see Post #21.  lol~~~~

Winterflame 9-9-2007 11:56

Jason, you may misunderstood my words----' I confessed that it is the most agitating post so far', and I don't think I used any word malaproposly.

If you felt anything else, I could just say sorry to you.
